False Alarm Prevention Guide       

Did you know that almost 80% of all false alarms are caused by user error. Here are some easy steps you can take to prevent false alarms.

Know what to do if you set of your alarm by accident

bulletDon't panic, there is time. 
bulletEnter your user code to disarm and reset the security system.
bulletWait for the Telsco operator to call.
bulletProvide your name and passcard number to the operator.
bulletDo not leave the home or business until you have spoken with an operator.

Any person who has keys to your property must be able to operate the security system.  Contractors, house cleaning staff, employees and friends who may enter your property must have a code to operate your security system, and they must be practiced in its use.

Before you activate your alarm system

bulletSecurely close and lock all protected doors and windows.
bulletIf you are leaving your home, make sure the door you leave by is closed tightly.
bulletKeep pets, fans, heaters, etc. away from motion sensor areas.
bulletKnow and rehearse the process to cancel an accidental alarm.  Anyone with your key should know this process.
bulletKnow how much time you have after you arm your system to leave and to disarm your system when you come in.

Work closely with your security company
